Does LASIK hurt?
Binghamton and Syracuse, New York
LASIK is a relatively painless procedure, and the actual LASIK surgery lasts only minutes. We use a topical eye drop (anesthesia) to numb the eye during the procedure. Most LASIK patients feel no pain at all during the actual procedure. Some LASIK patients describe a "scratchy" feeling for a short time following the surgery, but minor discomfort is only temporary. Eye drops and a nap usually take care of any discomfort after the Lasik surgery.
